In this post I will review Six of the famous and best Free Antivirus Software.

The software also monitors files, e-mails, application control and external drives. It also has an embedded scan and self-protection. Active Defense technology with patented virus scanning, cleaning and updating capabilities make the system worth mentioning. It is easy to use, simple, perfect and Automatic Update

2 - Avira AntiVir Personal Edition ( Recommended ) : best free antivirus software if you're looking for the best protection against virus, spyware and rootkit threats. AntiVir is very light on resources and the detection rate of malware is outstanding, better than almost every other antivirus according to tests. However, there are some minor reservations.

3 - Avast : one of the better known antivirus software, Avast has the most features, with full real-time capabilities, including web, e-mail, IM, P2P and network shields, boot-time scanning, and a behavioural blocker. Avast is also light on resources. The newly released version 6 brings even more features including an internet site ratings plugin, script malware protection and a limited (non-configurable) sandboxing feature,These free antivirus programs are excellent software that provide a real alternative to the major commerical antivirus products.
4 - Panda Cloud Antivirus : protects you while you browse, play or work and you won't even notice it. It is extremely light as all the work is done in the cloud, Panda Cloud Antivirus provides you with the fastest protection against the newest viruses thanks to its cloud-scanning from PandaLabs' servers.
With a simple interface and completely automated features, it is an excellent choice for average users. The detection level is generally very high, but detection of zero day threats ios slightly lower.
5 - AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition : AVG offers complete malware protection, with considerably less bloat than the top pay-to-use antivirus clients. And while AVG Free does constantly remind you that you could pay for the professional version of the program, it does this without ever getting in the way of the program’s core.
6 - Microsoft Security Essentials : by Microsoft, Microsoft Security Essentials sports more than a typically verbose Microsoft name: it’s also a really good antivirus. Lightweight enough to run on older machines without crippling their performance, yet competent enough to handle most viruses and malware out there.
Perhaps the best part of MSE is its simplicity. As you can see, the user interface is really clear, with large buttons for the most basic functions.
